The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) have identified three key areas within which action by local authorities would make a real difference to small businesses locally. These are:
- The LABGI (Local Authority Business Growth Incentives Scheme) funding awarded to local authorities should be used to encourage development of the business community and promotes local enterprise activity
- SBRR (Small business rate relief) should be automatic to businesses entitled to it, with no need to engage in any application procedure
- Procurement- committing to small business friendly policies
