Race for free broadband connection

Small businesses in Newcastle looking to enhance their presence on the World Wide Web are being given a countdown for funding by The North East Regional Portal. Its Network Newcastle initiative offers SMEs in the city access to six months free broadband to help them make the most of the IT and the internet for their business. The Network Newcastle scheme is set to close on 29 June so firms only have a matter of weeks to apply for the free broadband offer.

Barry Richardson, Team Manager for Economic Development at Newcastle Council said "This offer is a must for Newcastle businesses and I urge them to apply as quickly as possible. The support available will not only help them get connected to high-speed internet access, but thanks to the support services available through the Regional Portal, will help them make the most of their asset and establish themselves and the city firmly on the e-business map"

This offer is open to all SMEs in Newcastle which pay rates to Newcastle City Council. The project closes on 29 June. Businesses can access more information at www.networknewcastle.co.uk or contact the project team on 0191 487 2002 or email info@n-e-life.co.uk
